Zinc in Food and Nutrition Security: Celebrating 100 Years of Essentiality
December 1-3, 2026
Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park in Bangkok, Thailand
One hundred years ago, University of California, Berkeley researchers Anna Luretta Sommer and Charles Bernard Lipman proved that zinc plays an essential role in the growth and development of plants. To commemorate this historic event, the International Zinc Association, in partnership with the University of Adelaide, Sabanci University, and Chiang Mai University is organizing the International Zinc Symposium to address the latest research and agricultural innovations for soil and plant scientists, human nutrition experts, research institutions, government agencies, fertilizer companies, and stakeholders committed to overcoming zinc deficiency and its impact on global food and nutrition security. #HappyZinc!
